NEWS (NOVEMBER 2004)

Willie performed a live session on Gaelic radio and gave a small interview more details (and mp3's) can be found by clicking on the Willie Campbell section. He did mention touring again next year and performing informally as a band with some other islanders.

No news as yet from the other astrid members (the astrid secret service continues)

NEWS (SEPTEMBER 2004)

Astrid are no more..... but here is the good news Willie will be performing live in October, the press release is below. The bad news for me is that I'm working nights that week..... I'm starting to feel quite ill already!  There is also an interview with Willie & Kevin Macneil available here http://www.hi-arts.co.uk/sept04_feature_campbell_macneil.htm

No news as yet from the other band members but I'm assured that something will be announced soon (here we go again)

THE two worlds of American and Scottish power pop are set to collide in a frenzy of sweet harmonies and jangly guitar chords on a forthcoming UK tour.

Willie Campbell, former frontman of Astrid and collaborator on two Reindeer Section albums, and Braden Blake, frontman of Seattle popsters Super Deluxe, will be hitting intimate venues in London, Manchester, Nottingham and Liverpool on their week-long jaunt round the country.

Willie may have waved goodbye to his Astrid cohorts, but his new material shows no indication that he has forgotten his pop roots.

After a lengthy hiatus Braden is back recording with Super Deluxe and is also promoting his debut UK solo release, “Good Enough” (7”Vinyl single) taken from “A Year in Pajamas”, an album full of heart-braking acoustic laments.

The guys will be revisiting and reinterpreting songs from their glittering back catalogue as well as treating fans to new and unreleased tracks.
